Working specifically on system-level data capture, analysis, performance tracking and monitoring for a variety of different High-Energy.X-ray sources and detector assemblies used in the Non-Intrusive Cargo and Vehicle Inspection industry. Working alongside physicists, software, and electronics engineers to experimentally evaluate the impact of innovative designs and concepts brought to market in a quick-turn around and fast-paced environment, whilst supporting legacy programs and existing schemes of work.ResponsibilitiesReport to the Science and Technology Manager, with day-to-day support and guidance Senior team members within the Science group.Support the data capture, analysis and system performance optimisation for a number of products at the point of Commissioning and customer acceptance testing.Explore methods and techniques to reduce the dose footprint of X-ray imaging systems, maximising performance at lower X-ray doses and reducing the cost of shielding with targeted solutions.Understand, monitor and disseminate in a clear and concise manner the relevant standards for X-ray performance and dose exposure in Cargo and Vehicle imaging.Develop tools and techniques to help anticipate system image performance for future units, analyse X-ray images on current units and establish trends and correlations for various system-level configurations.Develop and maintain analytical models: excel; Matlab; Geant4, to predict detector response to X-ray illumination and replicate X-ray spectral compositions.Work closely with the software team to develop and deliver image enhancement tools and filters into the inspection suite.Support programs and projects to deliver fully compliant X-ray imaging systems at customer acceptance tests, both on site and at customer facilities world-wide.Take responsibility for the design of X-ray based imaging systems for inspection of cargo and vehicles.Undertake system-level design and underlying physics analysisIncluding:-Top down design of new projects/data capture programs/imaging requirements in support of the tender processes.Bottom up design of new technologies from and imaging basis.Provision of image processing, data analysis and experimental work as required.Build interactions with global departments to encourage pull-through of new R&D.Support wider S&T efforts at other global sites, universities, and external collaborations.Experience and Attributes:RequiredGraduate/Postgraduate experience in radiation physics with experimental background.Experience using excel and Matlab for data analysis.The ability to work with others in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced product development environment.Willingness to support offsite (world wide) programs of work often at short notice and out of normal working hours in the UK.DesirableExperience using C# for desktop application development.Experience using oscilloscopes to examine real-time pulse shape data from radiation detector units.OSI Systems, Inc. has three operating divisions: (a) Security, providing security and inspection systems, turnkey security screening solutions and related services; (b) Healthcare, providing patient monitoring, diagnostic cardiology and anesthesia systems; and (c) Optoelectronics and Manufacturing, providing specialized electronic components and electronic manufacturing services for original equipment manufacturers with applications in the defense, aerospace, medical and industrial markets, among others.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:Company pensionFree parkingLife insuranceOn-site parkingSick payStore discountSchedule:Day shiftAbility to commute/relocate:Stoke-on-Trent, ST8 7PL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Education:Bachelor's (preferred)Work Location: In personReference ID: Graduate Radiation Physicist
