Full Time, Fixed Term for 18 months.
Bristol is the largest city in the Southwest and one of the country’s core cities. It is a vibrant, historic and multi-cultural city and is one of the most popular locations in the UK in which to both live and work.
The Strategic City Planning Service is responsible for ensuring the provision of the planning policy framework for Bristol, including at neighbourhood, local and strategic levels. We are also responsible for the monitoring and enforcement of developer contributions from Section 106 Agreements and the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
We are seeking a planning graduate to join our Planning Policy Team to support the preparation of the Bristol Local Plan which is which is due to be published and examined during the next 18 months. The role will provide support to senior officers across a number of key policy areas and provide the opportunity to become involved in the Local Plan Examination.
In addition, there may be other duties and responsibilities that the postholder will undertake to support the work of the Strategic City Planning Service.

For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment.
For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
