Job Summary
We currently have a very exciting opportunity for a talented Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join SLB Process Systems engineering team, located at our UK office in Crawley. SLB operate a flexible work program.
SLB Process Systems group designs, engineer and fabricates specialist oil, gas, water and solids processing equipment packages and facilities. These packages vary in size and complexity from single train vessels to multi deck modules for both onshore and offshore facilities. We are looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our fixed step training programme for 3 years. At the same time, you will get the opportunity to work alongside experienced multi-discipline engineers on exciting international projects and proposals developing your skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare design documentation, specifications, datasheets for all mechanical equipment both rotating and static in accordance with SLB procedures and client specifications, complying with international codes and standards.
- You will be working within an experienced project execution team, to support the development of mechanical design and engineering solutions for our key projects.
- Evaluate customer inquiries and specifications in support of the proposal team to determine the best design for the application.
- You will work on projects from design stage through to construction with opportunities to visit fabrication site.
- Identify areas where new and cost-effective techniques can be applied.
- Provide technical support throughout the service delivery process.
- Attend client clarification and kick off meetings as required.
- Consult with relevant subject matter experts as required to optimise the technical design.
- Assist in incident response, recovery and investigation.
- Support multiple Product Line operations in a collaborative optimised job design.
- Assist sales and commercial team in evaluating technical viability and tenders.
- Attend witness testing and inspection of specified equipment.
- Analyse job execution vs. design and formally capture design improvements and optimisation opportunities, adopt lessons learned and best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2:1 (MEng) or (BEng) Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, motivated with a passion for problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively as part of an integrated team.
- Competent in related engineering software (AutoCAD preferred) and Microsoft Office applications.
