Local Unit & Position Description:
Our highly respected Risk Advisory department in the UK and Ireland, is primarily responsible for the delivery of consultancy-based safety, integrity and risk management services. We provide high quality advisory services to the onshore and offshore oil and gas sector (upstream, midstream and downstream) and increasingly, provide similar services to the evolving hydrogen and renewables sectors.
Within this, our specialist integrity teams deliver a range of critical consultancy services such as failure investigation, fitness for service assessment, stress analysis, life extension, risk based inspection, asset health assessment, vibration assessment and risk management, to operators in support of their ongoing operations.
We are also leading our industry in advising clients how to repurpose their existing assets for the transportation of hydrogen or carbon dioxide to support the energy transition and deliver the innovative solutions that our industry and planet needs. This multi-disciplinary approach, with materials and integrity engineers working alongside our other discipline experts drawn from safety, flow assurance and rotating equipment, is what makes what we do, unique.
Our Opportunity:
As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer within our growing Vibration and Asset Health team, you will support clients across the energy industry through the provision of advisory services and consultancy, to manage the mechanical integrity of production, transmission, and distribution assets throughout our client’s asset life cycle.
Supported by your colleagues, you will have responsibility for project delivery across the full life cycle, from proposal preparation, methodology development, analysis and reporting, through to recommendation and development of solutions. Key services delivered by our team include the following:

Primarily based at our office in Loughborough (Leicestershire), the role will include some work at customer offices and sites in the UK and overseas, with offshore assignments a possibility, and will therefore require flexibility and a willingness to work on short to medium term assignments as required.

Our Opportunity:
As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer within our growing Vibration and Asset Health team, you will support clients across the energy industry through the provision of advisory services and consultancy, to manage the mechanical integrity of production, transmission, and distribution assets throughout our client’s asset life cycle.

- Development and implementation of methods for managing pipework vibration risks on energy assets, including cost-effective remedial solutions
- Pipework & structural vibration measurement and investigation
- Theoretical analysis of vibration, and fluid pulsation and noise issues
- Failure and mechanical integrity investigations
- Plant condition assessments to support operational, integrity and safety objectives
- Compressor testing to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Plant surveys to check compliance of compressor safety equipment
- Technology qualification and research

What will you bring?

- Minimum 2:2 Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Passion for developing your skills both professionally and personally, including the commitment to complete the appropriate professional registration in your field (Chartership)
- Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills along with ability to produce clear and concise technical reports for our customers
- Pro-active willingness to learn new skills, displaying a willingness to ’get stuck in’ and undertake work outside your ‘comfort zone’, demonstrating appropriate balance between asking for help and using own initiative / thinking through the problem
- Excellent interpersonal and team working skills, confident in building professional relationships and demonstrating first class written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to plan and prioritise own time and activities, to meet deadlines and achieve project objectives
We would also hope that you would share our interest in some of the following technical areas:
- Vibration testing and monitoring, and data analysis; and/or finite element modelling, including dynamic analysis
- Advanced vibration and acoustics assessment techniques, including modal analysis
- Pipework stress analysis using CAESAR II
- Matlab programming for data acquisition and analysis
