Multiple roles available across University of Manchester Academic Schools.

Posts available for a period of up to 12 months and usually commence from September 2023. This role provides an ideal opportunity for a university graduate looking to develop their skills and start a career in higher education support services and administration. Activities will focus on supporting Teaching, Learning & Student Experience teams in providing high quality administration and support to a wide range of students across the University at all levels of study. Support will include a range of activities including providing excellent advice and guidance on a multitude of matters to support studies and enhance the student experience. This could be in the areas of Curriculum and Programme, Assessment and Progression, Information, Advice & Guidance and Student Support and Wellbeing functions. Tasks could include face to face and online support, using multiple systems and working in collaboration with colleagues to achieve common goals.

Candidates should have an interest in supporting a broad range of teaching and learning and student experience initiatives which may include programme administration, timetabling, fieldwork, assessment and progression processes, supporting wellbeing, employability, welcome week and graduation, academic advising, skills development, maintaining blackboard spaces and student engagement (including social media and events). There may also be opportunities from time to time in supporting various Teaching, Learning & Student Experience projects relating to our operations and strategies.

Please note that the recruitment for our graduate intern vacancies will be completed via an online assessment centre spanning over a 2 – 3 hour period. The assessment centre will include candidates joining Zoom meetings to participate in individual introductions and also group exercises as a small team, presenting back discussion points to the interview panels. The final step of the recruitment process will include a short 5 - 10 minute individual interview with the University panel. The assessment centre will be confirmed ASAP.

All Interviews will take place online via Zoom. A working web camera is required for the interviews.

The online assessment centre will take place on Thursday 7th September for those successfully shortlisted.

Overall Purpose of the job

The Graduate Intern will be involved in and be expected to make a significant contribution to a range of activities associated with the business of the Teaching, Learning & Student Experience (TLSE) teams. The focus will be principally, but not exclusively in the provision of administrative support to one of our new functional TLSE teams.
