Job description

RSK Environment Ltd is looking for a high-calibre Graduate Environmental Consultant to join our growing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) & Environmental Management (EM) team in Manchester (part of the EPD North team). We are looking for someone looking to pursue a career in EIA and the delivery and coordination of multi-disciplinary environmental and consenting projects.

We anticipate the role will be a hybrid one, involving supervised work in the RSK Manchester and/or Helsby office, with opportunities for working from home in a blended working arrangement appropriate for both the successful candidate and the EIA & EM team.

You will be joining a dynamic and growing team within a leading multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy servicing a wide range of energy (including renewables and net zero), government, commercial, property, transport and utilities clients. Our EIA & EM teams are currently supporting clients on a range of national and major infrastructure projects in the renewables, net zero, energy transmission and transport sectors before, during and after construction. Our expectation is that you will contribute to the delivery of these projects from the outset and support our response to new market opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and overseeing EIA projects and other environmental studies, including successful delivery, client management and financial control
  • Coordination of multi-disciplinary teams
  • EIA report, EIA screening and/or scoping reports and environmental report documentation preparation and editing
  • Identification of environmental constraints - fieldwork and data collection
  • Working with regulators and liaising with clients;
  • Pro-active business development to identify new opportunities and win profitable new business

Person Specification

  • Graduate or Associate membership of IEMA would be desirable
  • BSc degree level qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Preferably MSc qualified in Environmental Impact Assessment Environmental Management or related subject
  • Working knowledge of UK legislation and the EIA process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent team player, with the ability to work autonomously
  • An enthusiastic approach, willingness to listen/learn, can-do attitude and openness to opportunity
  • Full UK driving licence
