The BWB Graduate Programme
Our Graduate Programme is the perfect place for you if you are an ambitious and passionate individual. Our programme will develop you to become a 'complete professional' and offer you a supportive induction programme, the opportunity to work alongside some of the most talented and respected engineers and consultants in the industry. You will receive independent mentoring, support through to Chartership and the opportunity to gain responsibility on a range of exciting projects.
Through our in-house PROpel scheme we will help you plan your career development and reach your full potential through a technical syllabus & skills development program.
What you’ll be doing
- Assisting the team in delivering environmental enhancement to offset development impact, delivering integrated environmental and sustainable solutions to the most complex of locations
- Support from experienced engineers, scientists and technicians will quickly see you understanding modelling methods, environmental data analytics and GIS systems.
- You will start work on smaller projects, with an emphasis on skills development to help you up the learning curve.
- You will quickly start working more independently on larger and more challenging projects.
- The position is for a graduate with strong aspirations to pursue a career in environmental assessment.
- You will work alongside experienced environmental consultants to develop skills in flood risk, contaminated land, ecology, air quality, acoustics, heritage, EIA and Sustainability, together with gaining an appreciation of sustainable development whilst working on a range of different projects.
- Working with clients across the transport, residential, commercial, industrial, health and retail sectors ranging from local and national developers and contractors to public sector bodies.
What you’ll bring
- A relevant degree and masters degree in an environmental related discipline
- Good IT skills
- Desire to work on schemes at a strategic level
- Industry relevant software packages, although training provided
- Keen to share your ideas about how we can do things better
- Great communication skills developed through well-rounded life experience - academically, socially and in any previous work situations
- Enthusiastic and ambitious to learn and progress
- A problem solver with strong communication skills
- Personal organisation skills, and the ability to work well within a team
