Based in North Acton with travel required to various site locations across the HS2 line of route where necessary.
At HS2 we offer a two-year rotational graduate programme, providing you with the opportunity to stretch and challenge yourself across various programme related placements. This programme is designed around enabling you to get as much experience as possible across the below teams within a particular business area. After completion of the 2-year graduate programme graduates will be transferred into a role within the same discipline, but not necessarily the same business area.
We have a graduate opportunity available in London which will require travel to various site locations across the HS2 line of route. Graduate opportunities will be available across a variety of HS2 teams including but not limited to those listed below. After the assessment stage, we will assign successful candidates accordingly based on business requirements.
Engineering and Environment
The construction engineering team are the Principal Designer representative across the HS2 Phase 1 contracts. We are responsible for assuring that the design and construction contracts are themselves integrated and that they interface properly with the developing railway systems designs.
We are also the NEC3 Supervisor under the Phase One design and construction contracts.
We carry out a level of risk based technical assurance within the Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) on design and construction activity, and specific Nominated Undertaker duties under the HS2 Act.
We provide support and advise construction client teams on all technical matters and promote challenge, opportunities, and innovation where appropriate.
The construction engineering team forms part of the respective contract Integrated Project Teams. We work alongside project managers, commercial and project controls teams and
Project Management
The project management team include health and safety, commercial, schedule, and contractual specialists
A programme of rotation in these teams will be developed with the successful candidate.

- 2:1 Bachelor’s degree (or non-UK equivalent) in Civil / Mechanical/Electrical engineering degree
- IT knowledge including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Our graduate programme salaries:
Salaries are currently pending pay review however please see below figures based on 2022.
Outside London
Birmingham (HS2 Headquarters): Basic £22,300 + 15% Flexible allowance = £25,645
