Job description
Malvern Optical continues expanding, with new projects planned for the next quarter and beyond. We require a Graduate Engineer /Physicist (or other relevant science) to join our team at the Malvern Optical Facility on Pershore Airfield to undertake a range of EME and TEMPEST testing, primarily on military products and platforms.
We are a market-leading research and development provider primarily in the electro-optic and electromagnetic (radio-frequency) systems domains. Additional services include electromagnetic measurement, electro-optical materials assessment and technical evaluation at both laboratory and platform level. We regularly provide expert independent technical advice within these areas to a wide range of clients.
About you:
You will be a recent graduate, preferably in a Science-based discipline.
You may have some knowledge of testing within the electromagnetic spectrum or have familiarity with RF communication networks. However, full training and one-to-one mentoring will be provided by more experienced EME engineers.
Demonstrate good communication and presentation skills.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Ability to work and reach targets set independently (self-starting).
The ability to work cohesively with all stakeholders for a mutual outcome.
Proven experience in delivering excellent customer service.
Willingness to travel occasionally if and when needed.
The position offers the opportunity for development into an EME test Engineer for the right individual.
The Role:
Your primary focus will be working on the company’s Electromagnetic and TEMPEST activities, expecting to work across other projects within the business portfolio.
You will be based in our state-of-the-art laboratories and test facilities in Pershore.
There will be projects that offer you a chance to travel across the UK and abroad.

Due to our work within the Defence sector, candidates must be eligible to obtain a full security clearance (SC) at the point of recruitment. (Malvern Optical will cover associated costs.)
