XEIAD are the largest provider of civil infrastructure inspections in the UK.
We pride ourselves on supporting the end to end management of a range of civil engineering assets, helping asset owners and managers keep critical infrastructure safe, reduce risk and maintenance costs as well as extend asset life.
Specialising in difficult access our teams have extensive experience inspecting structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, tunnels, and shafts across industry sectors such as Rail, Highways, Marine, Utilities and Defence.
We are currently engaged in the delivery of numerous projects throughout the UK for and on behalf of many asset owners, managers and a large diversity of engineering consultancies including Network Rail, National Highways, Balfour Beatty, Kier and Atkins to name just a few.
Having recently joined the BES Group we are able to offer our customers even more critical asset and risk management services.
As a Graduate Engineer you will assist in undertaking structural inspections and testing to produce inspection reports to a high standard ensuring that all works are undertaken safely and in accordance with XEIAD Policies and Procedures. Projects will be primarily involving difficult access therefore operatives will be required to undertake industry standard training in a number of access disciplines such as Rope Access and Confined Space Access (as well as Commercial Diving in some cases) to fulfil their role.
Principal tasks include:
- Assist in undertaking inspection and testing on a variety of civil infrastructure using a range of access disciplines in-line with industry approved codes of practice. Structures types include bridges, buildings, retaining walls and towers.
- Undertake inspections to a variety of inspection standards including rail, highways and defence
- Assist Inspection Engineers with collation and submission of inspection reports
- Undertake site works in a safe manner in line with company procedures and the safe systems of work put in place for each task.
- Undertake sufficient number of examinations to meet competency requirements
- Report any equipment that requires any repairs, servicing or calibration
- Report any accident, incident or near miss

Skills and Experience
- Degree or HNC/HND in civil or structures engineering
- Medically fit (pass pre-employment medical and ongoing medicals, including Drug and Alcohol tests).
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- IT Literate (Microsoft Office)
