About the role
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an individual with ambitions of developing a career as an engineer to join a truly collaborative team. We design and deliver high-quality, innovative solutions for walking and cycling infrastructure.
Working together to achieve our strategic priority of Liveable Cities and Towns for Everyone, we are very proud of our portfolio of ground-breaking projects.
We work hand in hand with local communities to reshape their streets and, alongside local authorities and other partners, unlock the potential of the wider road network to encourage greater active travel.
Underpinning all our work is a passion for sustainability and support for our vision of a society where the way we travel creates healthier places and happier lives for everyone.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. Candidates should be based within the South geographical area with regular travel expected to a nominated Hub/office base in Bristol.

"On average, I’ve been going on site visits about once a week which breaks up being in an office and is a crucial part of the work.
"One of the best things about working at Sustrans is the inspiring team and all their experience and knowledge that I can learn from.
"The work we do is important for people, places, and the planet, and is often challenging, which makes it feel like I am on a meaningful career path.
"I look forward to seeing projects completed, where I’ve informed the design or resolved problems that came up in construction."
