Salary and Contract Type
Salary: £20,020
Contract Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week.
Fixed term for 12 months, with the potential for the role to transition into a permanent role.
Hours: The core working hours for this role are from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday - Friday. However, there may be occasions when you need to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, to support SU events. In such cases, you will be given time off in lieu.
Location: You will be based at our campuses in Cheltenham, Park Campus & Francis Close Hall Campus.
The role comes with flexibility for both in-office and WFH, with a minimum requirement of 60% in-office work, and the flexibility to occasionally WFH.
Main Purpose of the Job
As a Digital Graphic Designer, you will drive the creation, editing and updating of all of the Students’ Union's digital and print marketing content, including website content, social content, marketing collateral and similar, to ensure consistency and that all media meets brand guidelines.
You’ll support the wider teams within the Students’ Union in delivering new and exciting design-led initiatives and the delivery of marketing campaigns and projects.
The responsibility will fall to you to manage content on the Students’ Union website and regularly update and promote comms on the Students’ Union digital channels to increase awareness of our services, events, and activities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for developing, scheduling and promoting SU campaigns and commercial projects. This will be achieved by creating content for use across our digital platforms and in print media according to the Marketing team and SU staff briefs.
· To effectively coordinate the production of promotional materials for various departments within the university and external clients.
· Writing clear, compelling copy in line with our brand and tone of voice for various mediums both online and print.
· Work with SU staff to produce, edit and update the website using our content management system. This will require editing of copy and improving the overall look and usability of the website.
· Manage student queries through social media platforms. Work with SU staff and officers to respond and direct students to relevant services and support.
· Monitor all media outlets to ensure all information is accurate and current and liaise with specific departments, as and when required, to ensure all sections are kept up to date.
· Work with the Marketing Team and other SU/university departments to create and send out regular emails and newsletters to appropriate segments of our membership.
· Attend events and capture images and video footage to be used for promotional purposes.

· An excellent working knowledge of the Adobe design package, particularly Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop - E

Experience
· A solid portfolio of past design projects - E
