Job description
Warrington is a great place to live and work and our Graduate Development Programme will give you an excellent opportunity to progress into a career within the council.
The role
Over a two year contract, our graduates will complete three, eight month placements across different areas of the council, gaining valuable experience and transferrable skills working in a local authority setting. The placements are all different and based across the various services delivered by the council to our communities, and you can choose those which best match your career ambitions. We have already identified some initial placements for graduates to choose from with new opportunities added as the programme progresses. Alongside all this you will be supported to work towards a level 4 apprenticeship, with one day each week for 'off the job' training provided, so that you leave the programme with a qualification.
We are looking for graduates with:
- experience of planning and prioritising work, whilst remaining flexible to changing demands
- commitment, drive and energy in pursuing projects and objectives
- excellent interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships and develop networks.
- strong analytical skills
- the ability to think creatively to find solutions
Please note that applications will be welcomed from all Graduates, not just from those who graduate in 2023.
Benefits
As well as a competitive salary, working for us means you will also get:
- Flexi time (flexible working hours with the ability to accrue additional time off)
- 26 days annual holiday, plus bank holidays
- Contributory pension scheme
- A range of employee benefits including access to Warrington Rewards - discounts with local traders and national organisations
