Job description
Role Title
Graduate Development Engineer
Location
Hull, UK (Hybrid)
Rewards
Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits on offer
Summary
Every lifecycle has a start point, and Smith+Nephew's wound care products are no different. To bring a new product to market, there are many, many stages of testing, verification and validation to consider, and that comes after a concept is in place.
Our Development Engineers consistently straddle what's considered conceptual thinking, and data driven research to develop our products. It requires "thinking outside of the box", or at other times redefining the "box" during product development stages. To do this, prototypes, laboratory tests and test rigs will help validate and verify the design as a design history file is built and evidence is detailed and proved.
As this process is continued a direction will become clear, it will require collaborative efforts from others outside of R&D, who will help craft a product that's not only efficient to manufacture but commercially viable. More importantly, it should keep our customers firmly in centre of everything we do!
Here's the exciting part!
To do this, were looking for graduates to join us to specialise as Development Engineers, with growth and development offered over the coming years.
Sound good? Here are some of the expectations in the role:
