Great opportunity for a passionate design graduate to join the forever growing Borg & Overström’s Research & Development Team. Borg & Overström design, assemble and sell premium water dispenser and tap systems to the commercial market.
The role is responsible for turning a concept into reality, working with a highly experienced design team to launch new products to the market. The role also includes responsibility for continuous improvement of our current product line.

Key Responsibilities include:
Research
- Research new developments and innovations
- Research existing industry products and plan improvements
- Make recommendations to improve production efficiency and improvement of existing products
- Continually innovating, looking for opportunities to stay ahead of the market
Design and Drawing
- Conceptual Design
- Develop and implement design strategies
- Responsible for CAD drawings and other schematics needed
- Injection Moulding part design
- Sheet Metal Design
- CNC Machined part design
- Design to Harmonised standards
- Design products with Lean manufacturing in mind
- Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for design
Technical Documentation
- Responsible for the creation of technical information for Product Manuals, Data sheets
- Participate in creation of Manufacturing documentation, Test inspection procedures, Test plans
Accreditations
- Work to ISO 9001 standard
- Designs to meet regulatory and certification needs of the Water Cooler market Borg and Overström supplies - for example Water Quality, NSF, UL
- Collaborate with relevant Accreditation bodies during the design phase to ensure product fit
Health & Safety
- Ensure that the company and your own work environment is conducive to good health and safety by complying with H&S policies, procedures, instructions and taking care for your own health & safety and the health and safety of others who may be affected by your actions.
- Ensure compliance with all local regulations
Entry Requirements

Education/ Experience Required Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Design engineering, Industrial or Product Design
- Injection moulding, Sheet Metal, CNC part design experience (Preferred but not essential)
- Broad range of skills in electronics and electro-mechanical engineering (Preferred but not essential)
- High competency using mainstream drawing programs – (Onshape OR Solidworks Preferred)
- Experience of Technical Documentation writing. Experience in Adobe Indesign & Illustrator (Preferred but not essential)
- Rendering (Keyshot experience preferred but not essential)
