In this exciting finance role, you’ll gain insight into several areas of internal reporting. As well as providing study support for a professional qualification, we will equip you with the skills to take on various responsibilities, including preparation, reporting and commentary on areas including sales, revenue, and costs of the Group. Bringing enthusiasm, curiosity, and a desire to learn, you’ll be a key part of this business-facing team. In addition, you’ll input into the monthly management accounts, and will be coached to use a range of data and tools to build dashboards and reporting to various business stakeholders to assist in business decisions.
As a visible member of the Finance team, you’ll be key player supporting the team reporting on sales, revenue and costs reporting to business stakeholders. You will also be a key contact for the wider Finance team, based across Edinburgh, London, and Paris.
Our ever-expanding business changes by the day. With this comes a wealth of ad-hoc projects and process improvements you can expect to get stuck into. As such, we’re looking for someone with initiative who is keen to evolve this role once established.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting business partners and attending meetings with wider business where required
- Preparation and posting of routine revenue/cost journal entries.
- Completion of relevant balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting the Senior Financial Accountant and Senior Finance Manager when preparing month end analysis and ad-hoc tasks
- Assisting with the audit process: providing support and responding to relevant queries
- Involved in budgeting process, assisting the Senior Financial Accountant where required
- Ad-hoc project work as and when the business need arises
- A 2:1 or above degree graduate, preferably within an Accountancy/Finance related course, or hold equivalent commercial experience
- Can have previous experience in an accounting role
- Keen to gain an accounting qualification, with potential for rotation across other areas of the finance team (ACCA/CIMA)
- Passionate and committed
- Keen to work in a growing, dynamic, and fast paced company
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Confident in both written and verbal communication
- Able to build relationships and utilise them both within the wider Finance team and across the business
- Well organised and able to manage/prioritise own workload and meet deadlines
- Analytically minded, able to investigate the detail but also consider the bigger picture
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
