Job Title: Governance Finance Manager Location: Preston - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements Salary: between £50,700 - £64,700 – depending on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: · Direct line management responsibilities for a team of five - use strong coaching, visionary and mentoring skills in order to inspire and develop team members to achieve their full potential · Be accountable for the planning, delivery and reporting of a wide range of assurance confirmations to schedule and play a key role in analysing the effectiveness of controls to mitigate risks · Lead your team in contributing towards readiness for UK Corporate Reform and support continuous improvement within the Finance Governance Capability Centre (GCC) · Produce data analytics dashboards and recommendation reports that will be read by senior stakeholders across the business, including members of the Executive Committee Your skills and experiences: Essential: · Qualified accountants with technical capability and a passion for utilising modernised technology to provide accurate, high quality, real time, standardised and consistent reporting across the organisation · Experience leading a team, with the ability to influence and persuade key stakeholders to gain support for recommendations that deliver improvement initiatives · Analytical skills, including the use of data analytics, to communicate visual data-driven observations that clearly articulate the issues and ensure those observations are supported by substantive evidence · Verbal and written communication skills to effectively deliver potentially sensitive and/or complex information to a range of stakeholders, including senior executives Desirable: · Extensive understanding of financial controls and governance across UK/RoW to develop appropriate data analytics routines to test the effectiveness of the control environment and drive improvements Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The Governance Capability Centre - Operations team: The Governance Capability Centre (GCC) is an enterprise-wide team of 5, that supports all UK businesses and is a key element of the Company’s governance framework. We are offering hybrid working around 2 days a week, at our local sites in Preston, Samlesbury and Warton. You will work within the Operations team to provide specialist governance insight to support the first line of defence to discharge their responsibilities to manage the Financial Risks in line with the Financial Control Framework (FCF).
