JOB MISSION:
The Global Sports Marketing Manager, Sponsorships, will serve in a pivotal growth role shaping the immediate and long-term future of Global Football Sports Marketing sponsorships at New Balance.
Working closely with cross-functional teams internally/externally, the role will lead, innovate, and support our football sponsorships across Europe and key global markets.
This role will be responsible for managing sponsored clubs while identifying future brand opportunities aligned with the global strategy. Building strong relationships with clubs, federations, agents, scouts, staff, and regional/local internal teams to drive maximum heat for the brand via existing and new sponsorship opportunities. Additional responsibilities include general B2B sponsorship management, operations, and club athlete support.
Ideal candidates will be based in UK as monthly trips to our EMEA Head Office in Warrington will be required.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage club portfolio in Europe including day to day relationship oversight, contract fulfillment, brand integration, serving as primary point of contact for business.
- Maximize ROI of partnerships across brand and against key business objectives via collaboration with global, regional, and local teams.
- Develop, foster, and maximize relationships with clubs, federations, agents, athletes, and relevant sports industry leaders.
- Support contract negotiations including creation and execution.
- Work closely with global product and marketing teams on development of seasonal plans.
- Identify disruptive opportunities to grow brand presence within existing partnerships.
- Support academy athlete strategy strengthening brand’s presence across sponsored clubs, working closely with athlete sports marketing.
- Attend matches, photo shoots, charitable activations, and other club-related events.
- Manage budget and strategically optimize spend across multiple years.
- Quantify and track ROI of partnership assets and activation.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
- Extensive international experience working in football industry, general sports marketing and/or major sports sponsorships in related field
- Maintain an existing network across European football and/or general international sports industry
- Commercial background preferred with exceptional project management skills
- Fluent English, Spanish bilingual preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to effectively manage teams internally and externally at varying levels of seniority
- Strong negotiation, organizational, verbal/written presentation skills
- Strategic (disruptive) thinker, with proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and entrepreneurial spirit with sense of urgency
- High level of executive presence and professionalism
- International/Domestic Travel: 25%+ (occasional nights/weekends required to attend matches and events)
