Weekly Working Hours: Initially 24 hours per week / part-time contract; possibility of extending to 40 hours per week / full-time contract
Shift pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Friday; occasional Saturdays in addition may be required
Our office Hours: Monday – Saturday, 09:00 – 17:00 (closed Christmas & New Year)
Holidays: 28 days' holiday per year (includes Bank Holidays)
You also are entitled to take a paid lunch break between 13:00 – 13:30 during your working days.
Work Location: Newcastle upon Tyne city centre office.
Job Description:
You will provide an excellent customer experience to all our customers, account holders and suppliers both in the United Kingdom and around the world. After around six months' training on our systems and procedures, you will be become fully competent and experienced in using our rail booking and other web-based booking systems. You will build quotations and provide telephone quotations to our customers as and when needed. You will complete bookings and assist in admin roles within the business. As a key team player, you will need to commit to our growing customer focused and friendly business and will continue to be an expert in this unique field of travel.
This role has a probation period of 3 months and if successful you will have excellent opportunities with RailTourGuide, helping us grow our operation servicing the B2B and B2C markets.
We are a fast growing travel company and the opportunities for promotion are excellent.
You must be motivated to work alone and as part of a small team to uphold excellent standards.
Your day to day duties will include:
- Dealing with telephone enquiries (answering the phone and taking messages)
- Building and costing e-mail quotations for customers' rail enquiries
- Communicating effectively with our key suppliers around the world
- Completing bookings for customers
- Completing accounting information
- Preparing travel documents
- Filing documents
- Keeping accurate records
Requirements for the role:
- Excellent telephone manner
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to think logically and on your feet
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail software
- Fast and accurate typing
Desirable: Excellent knowledge of UK, European & worldwide rail networks, products and routes
Pay: £10ph / to be reviewed after 3 months
