This is an exciting opportunity to join the Global Government and Public Services (GPS) team as Chief of Staff (COS) to the Global GPS Consulting Leader. GPS, already one of the biggest industries at Deloitte, is a thriving, vibrant and growing practice delivering highly innovative work that impacts the lives of so many around the world in a very real and direct manner.

The GPS CoS role offers an extraordinary global opportunity for world class talent to drive the development and execution of the global consulting strategy, foster connectivity and collaboration across the global ecosystem, advance thought leadership, and manage day-to-day operations.

The Global GPS Consulting CoS will work closing with the Global GPS Consulting leader to develop, activate and implement a growth strategy across the network. Specific activities include:

People and Relationships

  • Build and leverage strategic relationships across the ecosystem
  • Understand client and industry insights and pull through into GPS
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing, eminence and connections across the network
  • Coordinate global resources in support of top priority opportunitie
  • Support Diversity, Equality & Inclusion (DE&I) activities
  • Drive communication and build networks across leadership team
  • Design, plan and run leadership meetings

Strategy

  • Support the development, activation and implementation of a growth strategy
  • Track and coordinate investments and initiatives and report on outcomes
  • Work with GPS leaders to develop strategic priorities for Consulting.
  • Work with sectors, regions, MFs, and account teams to implement these strategies and measure the impact.

Leadership and Talent Development

  • Manage other team members to run Global GPS Consulting operations
  • Leverage industry teams across market research, marketing, and operations to pursue Consulting priorities.
  • Recruit and work with ad-hoc resources from MF practices to develop and operate industry strategic investments.
  • Develop industry order board for strategic hiring in-line with sector priorities

Connect to your skills and professional experience

Significant experience in the following:

  • Work experience should demonstrate client service delivery, management, strategy planning and implementation experience and client relationship management
  • Writing, analytical and oral presentation skills in a professional services environment

Industry Experience (Recommended):

  • Client service background in the industry is preferred; however, knowledge of or experience with working in any GPS Sector would be sufficient
  • Willingness to learn and understand sector nuances around heart of business issues, sector dynamics, global economics and how the industry impacts and is impacted by the global economy

Technical Skills (Required):

  • Self-starter with ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and deal with ambiguity
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy execution
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong relationship building and relationship management skills
  • Strong Executive communication skills

Professional Skills (Required):

  • High performance at an SM or D level
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate concepts into practical and executable plans
  • Strong understanding of Deloitte Global and member firm clients and industries programs
  • Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to coordinate across many constituents
  • Ability to interact and interface with all levels, especially with leadership

Personal independence
