Expectations
We are a vibrant and growing club, with a focus on developing as a performance sport within Scottish and student rugby. Our recent successes include winning the BUCS Scottish 1A league in the 2022/23 season, aiming to maintain the top-spot in the upcoming season. We also won the first ever Women’s Varsity match in Glasgow, beating our neighbours Strathclyde as part of one of our BUCS matches. We also won Taxi’s Cup, a inter-Glasgow tournament against Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian, currently being presented as a 7s style tournament. Looking forward to the upcoming season, we are looking for a self-driven and committed individual to plan and help to deliver a full training programme for our club. Collaboration with other coaching staff and game day guidance is essential to the success of the individual in this position. You will also be expected to work closely with our development coaches to aid in the continued growth of the 2nd XV team this upcoming season.
During the main university season starting September 2023, we train 4 times a week, with 2 gym sessions (Monday mornings and Friday afternoons) and 2 outdoor sessions (Monday and Friday), with Wednesday as our main game day. We have fixtures occasionally on Sundays also. As a head coach you would be expected to attend both outdoor sessions and the majority of game days. Our season runs September 2023 – May 2024
