Whilst ABP is a major Port operator for the commercial and industrial sectors, we also have a dedicated and growing Marina Operations side of the business. With two sites in East Anglia, we offer a wide range of services to leisure and commercial customers including berthing, fuel sales, storage, hauling and launching, maintenance and laundry facilities.
As part of the continued levels of service we’re looking to recruit an additional Marina Operative to join the team. The role is highly customer focused with a variety of tasks to get involved with, you should have a strong passion about boating and marine activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating 75 tonne Wise boat hoist
- Maintenance of marina facilities – this could include general appearance maintenance such as tidying up, pontoon maintenance, general maintenance or assisting with more technical jobs
- Selling berths and services provided by the Marina
- Fuelling of vessels and fuel stock control
- Assisting customers with all reasonable requests
- Upholding the ABP values
- Ensuring a safe and attractive Marina environment
- Opportunity to cover holiday/sickness shifts on the pilot boat after relevant training
Skills & Requirements
Essential
- Interest and experience within the boating or marine sector (Yachting, marine engineering, navy)
- Strong customer focused approach
- Excellent health & safety awareness
- Ability to work in a small team as well as independently.
- Ability to work on a rostered shift pattern which includes unsociable hours, weekends and bank holidays.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Job relevant IT experience (excel and word)
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of mandatory, regulatory and safety responsibilities relevant to the main duties
- Full UK Driving Licence
Ideal
- Boat Hoist experience (Full training will be offered)
- Banksman/Slinger experience (Full training will be offered)
- Fork Lift experience (Full training will be offered)
- Short-Range VHF Radio certificate (RYA, training available)
- Oil Response Training (Full training will be offered)
- Powerboat Level 2 (RYA, training available)
