We are looking for efficient and effective Porters who are self-motivated and professional manner at all times.
You will need to have a courteous and helpful approach to patients, visitors and staff have a sensible and safe conscious approach to work
You will be driving our site vehicles around the premises to deliver various goods therefore a full UK driving licence is required.
We are looking for people to join our team of porters at Princess Alexandra Hospital. In this role you will be expected to provide an efficient, effective and flexible portering service to all our customers. Communication and face to face contact with patients, visitors and all staff, wearing of smart uniform for patient facing duties working inside and outside the building.
Tasks will include the collection and delivery of all medical and non-medical items as and when required by the Trust, this will include the movement of patients, goods, stores, linen, food, pharmacy items, medical record notes and boxes waste and the driving of vehicles therefore a driving licence is essential.
Logistical role is of movement of all goods and waste inside and outside the building.
The role involves being flexible and working shift patterns covering a 24-hour period over 7 days a week.
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop’s Stortford, and St Margaret’s Hospital in Epping.
We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford and Epping. Our extended catchment area incorporates a population of up to 500,000 and includes the areas of Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.

Working as a Porter within the Trust you will be involved with Patient movement throughout the site both internally and externally by means of wheelchair, bed trolley and ambulance stretcher.
Your role will include working with deceased patients and transferring them from wards in a dignified manner ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed
Your role will be varied and include non-patient duties including distribution of supplies and items, post, pharmaceutical items including controlled drugs along with a variety of other items.
This role is extremely varied and interesting with no two days alike.
