Job description
A Sheffield based market leading manufacturer of hand-crafted Woodturning, Woodcarving and Woodworking Tools, distributing to over 30 different countries worldwide.
We are looking for a General Operative to join our assembly area team.
Duties will include checking-in and storing materials, reading sales orders, identifying tools, branding tools, assembling tools, ensuring final quality checks, packing orders, and preparing customer orders for shipping. In addition, this role provides the opportunity to develop ways of working through the introduction of new stock management software. The purpose of the role is to ensure accuracy and specification standards, whilst meeting the expectations and requirements of our worldwide customer base.
Responsibilities
· Accepting deliveries and processing stock into storage areas
· Performing inventory counts/controls/location checks
· Reporting discrepancies/damages
· Maximising the use of new stock management system
· Identify individual tools from our extensive range
· The physical assembly of tools
· Branding tools in line with customer requirements
· Matching the required items against customers sales orders
· Providing quality control checks
· Preparing and packing orders for shipping worldwide
· Keeping a clean and safe working environment
· To communicate and cooperate with co-workers
· To operate and maintain warehouse equipment
· Following quality service standards, procedures, rules and regulations
