General Manager - Warehouse Leicester, England
Job description
My client are a luxury fashion brand who are known as the true specialists in footwear, and pride themselves on their impeccable attention to detail. Now they are on the hunt for either an experienced Warehouse GM or a Warehouse Manager ready to take that step up.
This role will have overall responsibility for all onsite logistics across the operation. The role will be handling day to day operations however you will be exposed to the strategy side of things. This is the sole distribution centre for the whole company so it’s a massive operation. The DC serves the demand from the UK & EU real estate, international franchise partners, wholesale customers and all e-commerce orders.
The role will be reporting into the head of logistics & distribution and will have 5 direct reports which includes different functions of the business. Overall headcount is 130.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience at a General Manager level or Warehouse manager
o Extensive experience of operating in a DC environment serving within Fashion.
o Experience in managing a site headcount of 100+ staff.
o Experience of working in a truly international, multi-channel, supply and demand environment
o Have a very good understanding of Health and Safety legislation and had previous responsibility at site lead
level. (NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous).
o Demonstrable ability to develop teams and deliver cultural change.
o Proven track record in developing operational efficiencies and process improvements within a DC environment.
Desirable
o Experience of working with Island Pacific or other ERP systems.
o Experience of working in a custom bonded warehouse environment.
o Experience of small fleet management, O-licence and CPC
