General Manager – Halo Bournemouth. Are you this person?
Established in 2013 and winners of Bournemouth’s Best Bar Awards for every year in which it participated, Halo is an independently owned nightclub. Set inside a delisted Church with state of the art festival style sound and lighting systems, along with VVIP and balcony VIP areas, it has been one of not only Bournemouth’s but the south coast’s most popular venues since its creation over 9 years ago.
As the General Manager at Halo Bournemouth you will have a keen interest in all things; music, nightlife, social media, lifestyle and drink. You will be a wizard with numbers, a first class venue and event operator, have a good knowledge of marketing, be a great negotiator, clear communicator and understand stock control.
Customer care and the overall customer experience is paramount, no situation phases you; comfortable with the demands of the corporate world and equally at home with an independently run outlet, you are able to react accordingly and control any scenario.
Experience is essential. You will need to have been a successful manager at a previous relevant business as you will need to motivate, inspire and drive the venue forward at all times. It’s long hours but with many opportunities along the way.
Although we are a busy venue and predominantly serving the night time economy, we believe it is paramount that all our employees have a sensible work/life balance and therefore we operate a flexible approach to shift patterns; so yes you can get weekends off sometimes!!!
Key Responsibilities:
· To inject a new lease of life into Halo Bournemouth and to not be afraid to challenge the status quo (including the Directors)! We want you to demonstrate your entrepreneurial spirit.
- Taking responsibility for the club’s safety and security. Making sure you comply with Health and Safety and Licensing regulations at all times. To build and maintain professional rapport with local and statutory bodies such as Police, Council, Fire and EHO.
· Interacting with customers and insuring that high standards of Customer Service are maintained. Building excellent relationships with both corporate and non-corporate customers.
· Help expand the brand into key territories outside of Bournemouth, whilst maintaining a love for the flagship site.
· Establishing key objectives with the rest of the team on a quarterly basis.
· Working with both your management team and directors, ensure all agreed income and cost targets are met for the venue, constantly seeking out analysis and improvements where opportunities exist.
· Recruiting, training and managing staff including leading meetings to update and motivate staff
Lead by example to inspire all team members. Be pivotal to discipline/policy enforcement and payroll administration.
· Oversee all cash-handling systems, ensuring security and efficient administration along with correct financial reporting at all times. Monitoring profitability and performance to insure sales are met and exceeded.
· Manage the key working relationships with external suppliers to maintain the cost price of stock and promote any special offers, food or drink led events and potential sponsorship, with input from your team/directors.
· Undertaking regular stock checks, placing orders and monitoring any changes in the market place.
· Maintain regular pricing policy reviews and competitor analysis ensuring the maximising of revenue and profits. Collecting and acting on customer feedback to improve the overall running of the venue.
· Insuring regular maintenance of the venue, including cleaning and repairs.
Experience, Qualifications and personal characteristics:
