Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Operational Manager for a fixed term contract for a year to work within the Digestive Diseases Division of the Surgery Health Group as a Divisional General Manager.
The post within the Digestive Diseases Division provides business and operational management to the specialties of Acute GI Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, Bowel Screening and Upper GI Surgery.
As amemberofthetriumvirateteamleadingtheDivision,theDivisionalGeneralManagerisaccountabletotheHealthGroupOperationsDirectorandisresponsiblejointly,alongwiththeDivision’sClinicalleadandSeniorMatron/SeniorNursingTeam,foritsoverallefficientandeffectiveleadership,managementandperformance.
The post holder will work alongside the existing Divisional General Manager along with the Senior Matrons and Clinical Leads within the Division. The team is responsible for the delivery of safe, high quality and effective clinical services within the Surgery Health Group at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, ensuring that all targets, deadlines and governance agendas are delivered.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a forward thinking experienced manager who will be expected to deal with multiple issues at the same time, across a number of specialties whilst working to tight deadlines. The post holder will be required to have excellent communication and organisational skills. The post will report directly to the Director of Operations but will be expected to work with a high level of autonomy in a self-directed way within the parameters set for the post.
