An excellent permanent opportunity has become available to join the team as a General Manager based on site at our showcase site, Gateshead College. This is a hands on role responsible for delivering outstanding catering service to both the client and internal teams based on site at the College. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will also be responsible for the successful and smooth running of our F&B (breakfast and lunch) offering, busy retail outlet and hospitality functions across both a main and satellite site.
This is a full time position which is predominantly a Monday to Friday position, but we will need the post holder to offer some flexibility with working later into the evening and weekends where required.

A day in the life of a General Manager:
- Build and maintain key relationships both internally and externally and attend regular service level review meetings
- Recruit, train and lead your teams to success
- Oversee all aspects of the operation to deliver outstanding service levels across the main site and satellite site which includes a very busy retail outlet
- Manage all hospitality for our events and functions
- Accountable for all customer bookings, invoicing and accounts reconciliation
- Manage financials and achieve food and labour targets
- Oversee and ensure all cleaning and safety procedures are consistently delivered
You'll be set up for success if you have:
- Experience operating as a General Manager within hospitality/ contract catering/ retail
- Education experience is advantageous, but not essential
- Cheffing background is advantageous but not essential
- Experience leading a team to success
- First class customer service skills and a passion for delivering service excellence
- Can bring innovation to the team
