You should be extremely hands-on, capable of working both independently and as part of a team, and passionate about finding solutions amid complexity and ambiguity. The role is based in London on a hybrid basis.Our work is intellectually challenging, exciting, and fast-paced. Developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions is part of our daily business.Responsibilities include:· Handling commercial contracts ranging from NDAs to complex master services agreements for provision of financial services with minimal supervision.· Taking ownership and leading with work of a corporate / company secretarial nature such as share purchase agreements, board resolutions, powers of attorney, etc.· Providing day-to-day legal support to the C-suite, commercial business and product teams.· Assisting the senior legal counsel with developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, efficient and business-centric ways.· Contribute to building the legal function – including proper and adequate governance, templates and processes are implemented and embedded in the organisation· Helping business teams launch new services and features for customers and sellers in the UK, the EU, Canada and other jurisdictions.· Advising on strategies for commercial dispute resolution.· Advising on general regulatory issues and responding to contacts from regulators.· Work closely with and supervise the work of junior members of the team and support staff.Requirements:· Excellent academic qualifications (with preference for LLM in commercial / business law or financial services but not essential).· Minimum 2+ years' post-qualification legal experience in a leading law firm or highly regarded in-house team.· Commercial law experience, including drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts.· Corporate law and transactional experience.· Ability to prioritise in a fast-moving environment.· Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.· Strong written and oral communication skills (it goes without saying!).· Open personality that likes to have fun at work as well as getting the job done.Bonus requirements:· Prior experience working in-house for a start-up and/or the fintech sector.· Experience or exposure to financial services regulations, especially payments or banking.· Experience working on cross-border matters.· Experience working in an international environment where multiple languages are spoken.Benefits:· 25 days annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays)· Pension (after probation)· Hybrid working model, Monday - Wednesday work from the office, Thursday-Friday remote· Opportunity to be part of a young, scaling company· Regular staff socials· Flexible workingJob Types: Permanent, Full-timeSalary: £60,000.00-£75,000.00 per yearBenefits:Casual dressCompany pensionWork from homeSchedule:Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate: London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Application question(s):Will you require, now or in future, visa sponsorship?
