We are currently hiring for a General Assistant - Checkout Operator at our Sheffield depot. The role will include working on the checkouts to process customers transactions, alongside preparing customer orders for delivery the following day. You will be working as part of a key supportive team within the depot, where you will take ownership to ensure the process of tilling a customer’s order with good attention to detail and can work well in a busy environment.

What will you be doing as a Checkout Operator?

  • Working on the checkout to process customers transactions
  • Answering customer queries
  • Preparing customer orders for delivery
  • Taking responsibility for the zone that you work in; this includes ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Supporting other departments as required

What do you need to be a Checkout Operator?

  • Confidence using computerised tills and barcode scanners
  • Excellent work ethic is required, as well as punctuality and reliability
  • Great with customers and aware of their needs, whilst being polite and friendly at all times
  • Using Initiative and have the capability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good time management as you will be working at speed
  • Able to work in a high-volume, sometimes physically challenging role
  • Able to work quickly and to deadlines

What’s on offer?

  • Rate of pay dayshift: £6.50 - £9.50 per hour + opportunities for overtime
  • This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week on the following shift pattern:

Monday - Thursday: 08:30 - 15:00

Friday: OFF

Saturday: 08:00 - 16:30

Sunday: OFF

  • Weekly pay

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £6.50-£9.50 per hour
