Our flagship shop in Bristol is situated opposite College Green with the stunning backdrop of the Cathedral. We also have shops in Bath, Oxford and Cardiff and have a concession stand in the world famous Selfridges Food Hall on Oxford Street, London. We have ambitious plans to grow the business into a national chain and would invite you to be part of this expansion.
About the role
Your role will be to produce exceptional artisanal gelato, following our carefully designed recipes, to make the Swoon experience enjoyable for every customer.
Experience with Gelato is preferable, but what is most important is a willingness to learn and an enthusiasm for the product. We will provide full training whilst on the job, learning skills to master the art of Gelato making. Ideally you will also have previous food manufacturing experience
Responsibilities and skills required:
- Sound understanding of food safety, food allergies and food borne illnesses
- Ability to listen, follow instructions, and learn quickly on the job
- Help in delivering a consistent product of a high standard, monitoring product quality and freshness
- Contribute to achieving the highest standards of food preparation, along with general cleaning duties
- Effective and safe packaging of ingredients, ensuring products are correctly date-labelled, stored and rotated
- Assist the Gelato Production Manager in controlling stock, minimising wastage and working efficiently to achieve production targets
- Is committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard
- Contributes to the safe and efficient running of the production of gelato, adhering to the companies health & safety policies
- Is able to measure ingredients, follow recipes, and ensure procedures are completed with accuracy
- Be able to craft gelato products using natural ingredients, all done with care and attention.

Knowledge of good spoken English is essential.
