Gardener - Chippenham, Wiltshire
Lucknam Park are recruiting for a full time Gardener to join their team. A passion for horticulture and drive to achieve results are essential for this role. This wonderful position is to help in improving and maintaining existing gardens and grounds.
Main Responsibilities:
- You will also be assisting with setting out and planting newly designed gardens and areas as well as taking care of lawns as part of your duties.
- You will be helping to maintain and improve the gardens and grounds, performing a variety of tasks, including but not limited to planting, propagating, weeding, pruning, deadheading, mowing, hedge cutting, mulching, scarifying, spraying, and strimming.
The successful candidate needs to be able to demonstrate the following:
- Enthusiasm and passion for gardening, with a good work ethic and a keen eye for detail.
- Good plant and species knowledge.
- Proven practical gardening/horticultural experience.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Operate well as part of a team and equally be sufficiently self-motivated to work alone.
- A flexible and positive approach to challenges.
- A good knowledge and application of Health and Safety compliance.
- Competence in using and maintaining machinery/equipment.
- Willingness to carry out any other reasonable work, as directed by the Head Gardener.
- Be willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Knowledge of seasonal tasks in gardens is advantageous.
Requirements:
- Experience of working as a Gardener would be an advantage but not essential
- Formal horticultural training (RHS level 2 or equivalent) and experience (2 years minimum) are essential.
- An understanding and passion for horticulture
- Qualifications in spraying and chainsaw would be advantageous
- To be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors in all weathers
- Communicate clearly in fluent English
- A caring and patient manner
- Self motivated, initiative and a positive attitude towards work

We are offering a competitive salary of £24,450 per annum for 40 hours over 5 days, Monday - Friday. Shifts may include working Public/Bank Holidays. Service charge will be paid after completing one full months service.
