Gardener
Grade 4 (£22,681 - £25,138 p.a. depending on experience)
This role will be based on the university campus. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Do you have experience of working within a grounds maintenance environment? Are you able to build and maintain effective working relationships? Do you have experience of carrying out a full range of duties to deliver an exceptional external environment?
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with a passion to provide an efficient and effective grounds maintenance services across a diverse campus. You will be responsible for maintaining a range of gardens at our Main Campus.
You will hold a NVQ Level 2 qualification in Horticulture, alongside a Pesticide application qualification and have proven experience of working in a grounds maintenance environment, with the ability to manage multiple demands to strict deadlines. You will possess good communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to plan, prioritise your workload under minimal supervision.
Members of the managed services team are required to provide a flexible service, working as necessary to meet the needs of the business. This would normally equate to a 35 hour working week, 5 days over 7. Your normal working times will be 7.30am to 3.pm Monday to Friday (working on average 1 Saturday in 4); however flexibility is particularly required due to seasonal variations, customer requirements and University events e.g. open days, large conferences and degree ceremonies.
