Founded in 2014, Border Control Garden Design is a small, family run soft landscaping company based in the Vale of Belvoir near Bingham, Nottinghamshire. We provide a full domestic garden service from initial design through to planting and ongoing maintenance. Our overall goal is to develop our clients’ gardens over time, whether they want a border reinvigorating, a brand new planting design or general upkeep.We’re looking for a keen and enthusiastic person to join who has a true love gardening. Horticultural knowledge is beneficial for this role. It doesn't have to be from professional experience, as great gardeners often learn the most about plantsmanship from their own garden. Additionally, we often take on hedge maintenance so willingness to get involved with the use of petrol tools is also a bonus. You’ll be part of one of 3 lovely teams working under a Team Leader. Our team is also a hybrid of full-time and part-time staff.Our team consists of qualified horticulturalists, garden designers, wildlife enthusiasts and current green fingered students keen to gain experience. We also listen to your interests within gardening, whether you want to specialise in ponds, wildlife habitats, garden design, hedge cutting and mowing or general garden maintenance.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in some or all of the following:Hands on preparation of gardens ready for planting or hard landscapersPlantingOn-going maintenance which includes mowing, weeding, pruning, hedge cuttingPlanting plans including appropriate selection and orderingUpkeep of work transport and toolsWe work all year round which means we do work in inclement weather, however take precautions if conditions are harsh. For example we won’t make you work in torrential rain or stormy conditions!Driving license preferred but not essential.
