WHO WE ARE:
The Real Escape, an independent escape room venue located at the end of Commercial Road in central Portsmouth. Since opening our doors in 2016, we’ve seen thousands of brilliant players come through our doors from Portsmouth, and even from around the world! We’ve been fortunate enough to generate over 3300 likes on Facebook and accumulate hundreds of 5-star reviews that help keep us doing what we do.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for 2 casual members of staff to join our team as an escape room games host. Hours vary depending on bookings. We require staff for both weekdays and weekends. Full training is provided. Last minute shifts happen often, so this position is well-suited for someone local. £9.50/hour. Immediate start required.
YOUR ROLE:
- Prepare venue before opening
- Greet players upon arrival
- Provide a verbal briefing before the game
- Set the game mood with a verbal game intro
- Reset the game ready for the next group
- Answer phones/manage bookings
- Provide a fun and enjoyable experience for our customers
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES:
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Must be social, and confident in conversation
- Provide an enthusiastic and entertaining customer service
- A good understanding of technology e.g basic computer skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to work independently
- Monitor game play on a computer screen and be on hand to assist players for 1 hour of play without distraction
- Good sense of humour doesn't hurt
Working days: Weekdays, weekends and bank holidays. Daytime and evenings. Weekends and bank holidays are essential as they are our peak times. Please do not apply if this not suitable to your needs.
