Job description

Job Title: Future of Work HR Partner
Location: Port Sunlight
JOB PURPOSE
At Unilever, we believe that offering our employees different ways of working flexibly is an important part of the future of work. U-Work is what we call a new employment model, a different way of working within Unilever designed to give employees flexibility with security and it provides us with flexible resourcing options. It’s a win:win. At the heart of U-Work is the concept of dipping in and out of work with Unilever. Employees work on assignments that match their skills and experience as they arise, which might involve working for a few days, weeks or even months at a time and then usually having a break before starting another assignment. Between working on assignments U-work employees have maximum flexibility to do the other things in life that are important to them. U-Work’s been live since 2020 and since then we’ve been steadily growing our U-Work community with currently over 135 UK employees working in this unique and different way. We’ve also started rolling out the model in other countries, as well as receiving recognition externally for this innovative way of working.
RESPONSIBILITIES
We’re a small team with big ambitions to grow U-Work further. We need to continue to successfully manage the operation that we’ve built so far and at the same time grow our U-Work community further and we need someone to join us to be part of that growth journey.
  • We think of U-Work like a start-up, the team do what needs to be done, nobody has a job description. So if you join us you’d also be getting stuck into everything.
  • This could range on any given day from dealing with admin like producing drafting contracts, helping with payroll or liaising with one of our benefits providers.
  • Or another day you might spend most of your time talking to managers about assignment opportunities in their team or employees who are interested in joining U-Work.
  • Or perhaps you’ll be working on a project to help raise awareness of U-Work in our business or improve our operational effectiveness.
  • We’re looking for someone who’s not hung up on a specific role definition and is keen to roll up their sleeves and be flexible and happy working across all aspects of running and developing U-Work.
ALL ABOUT YOU
  • We need someone who’s a good communicator and can build effective relationships at all levels in the organisation, is discreet and trustworthy and comfortable delivering feedback and having open conversations.
  • Ideally you’ll have some experience in HR including resourcing.
  • This environment can sometimes be fast-paced so being organised and efficient and able to keep plates spinning is a must.
  • As well has having good verbal communication skills, you’ll also need to have good written skills.

We are a key advocate of wellbeing and offer a variety of support for our people including hubs, programmes and development opportunities. Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
What can I do?
If you become aware of potential recruitment fraud, spot fake Unilever recruitment adverts or fake LinkedIn profiles, report them via Una Live Chat.
Unilever does not accept responsibility or liability for any candidates who are financially impacted by recruitment fraud. Your vigilance is key!
