An exciting opportunity has arisen at NFU Mutual South Cotswolds agency for a dedicated Trainee Commercial Insurance Professional based at either our Chippenham or Wotton-under-Edge office.
As a Trainee Commercial Insurance Professional within our growing team, you will play a key role in the success of an established and expanding local business, ensuring that our customers are at the heart of everything we do. With the aim being to develop you over time into a Sales Executive or Account Management role.
What you will be doing:
You will start your career at NFU Mutual South Cotswolds Agency by gaining your licensing in our Motor and Personal products. You will be supported through this journey to develop your sales and customer service skills whilst taking inbound calls from customers and completing changes and new business quotes.
You will also learn how to prospect for new business and cross-sell other products to customers, including our Financial Services offerings which are delivered by a dedicated Financial Adviser. You will have a detailed Personal Development Plan to ensure you are performing in line with the agency’s expectation, but this will be adapted to a pace and style that suits you. You will also get the opportunity to go out to client visits with established team members to gain valuable experience. Once you have embedded these skills you will then develop into a Commercial Insurance Account or Sales Executive.

- A confident & effective communicator, both written and verbal.
- A proficient IT user with good interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- A problem solver who enjoys working as part of a team with a positive can-do attitude.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise tasks.
- Minimum of Grade C in GCSE Math’s and English (or equivalent)
- The ability and desire to learn new systems, products, processes and skills.
Additional Information:
A driving license and access to own vehicle is essential.

This is a full-time vacancy working 35 hours per week 09:00 – 17:00 with an hour for lunch. Starting salary banding of £19,000 - £22,000 dependent on experience, with the opportunity to progress and increase salary as you develop your role.
