Part time Functional Skills Tutor (3 days).
£26 - £28K per annum (pro rata)
Michaeljohn Training School is an apprenticeship training provider, specialising in delivery of hairdressing and barbering qualifications.
Established in our sector for 40 years, we deliver Traineeships and level 2/3 Standards qualifications in partnership with over 250 employers across Greater Manchester. Based in the Northern Quarter of the City Centre we are a reputable provider, well respected within the industry and training sector, driven to deliver the best training for our learners and employers.
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Functional Skills Educator to join our successful team. This is an exciting and rewarding role within the training school, providing teaching, learning and assessment of Functional Skills in English and mathematics to level 2.
Job Duties:
- Provide support in English and mathematics, and promote learning for life and achievement.
- Support learners with identified learning needs and barriers to learning.
- Use innovative teaching and learning strategies.
- Share best practice and contribute to the review of curriculums.
- Prepare learners undertaking standards for timely achievement of level one maths and English and level 2 testing.
- Stretch and challenge all learners, ensure security of learner profiles, assessments, and training records in accordance with GDPR.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified functional skills teacher/assessor in post 16 further education, with experience of providing effective teaching, learning and assessment in both English and mathematics. Experience of working with apprenticeships is an advantage yet not essential, as training will be provided.
The role is 3 days per week (Monday 09:30-17:30, Tuesday 09:30 -18:30 and Wednesday 09:30-17:30)
