The Opportunity

In your role as Stockroom and Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for all stockroom operations to optimise the retail business and enhance efficiency of the shopfloor selling process to drive sales.
The role involves heavy lifting, excellent organisational skills, commerciality and the ability to support on the shopfloor with customers, delivering extraordinary levels of service.
This position is full time only, Monday-Friday, with flexibility to support at weekends during peak periods.
Working in a team you will play an active role in providing a positive customer experience and driving sales.
The Accountabilities
- Responsible for physical stock management and movement, as well as maintaining effective stock flow and efficient storage process to improve and speed up the customer journey.
- Ensure the highest standard of housekeeping is observed in all back of house areas at all times.
- Ensure procedures are executed and policies followed.
- Accurately manage stock invoices in Books and News.
- Support the Management team in receiving invoices.
- Ensuring compliance with the recall process.
- Support the Management team to ensure the shop floor is replenished daily, ensuring stock rotation through all genres.
- Support store team by implementing floor moves, as and when required.
- Ensure deliveries and transfers are processed quickly and efficiently at all times.
- Support the Management team with accurate stock counts and stock takes.
- To always deliver a friendly service, smiling, greeting and making eye contact with every customer you come into contact with.
- Working on tills accurately and efficiently, to provide a positive customer experience.
- Carry out stock replenishment, ensuring all areas of the store remain tidy and fully stocked.
- Working as an active member of the team, supporting colleagues in all tasks
- Meeting high standards of display and visual merchandising to ensure the store is well presented.
- Demonstrate good product knowledge to customers. Approaching customers that may require assistance if you are on the shop floor.
This role involves pushing loaded trolleys of stock for long distances and daily heavy lifting.
The Requirements
Experience gained within a retail environment preferred
Confident approach towards maximising sales opportunities
Flexibility towards working hours
Strong communication skills and ability to participate as a key team member
