Reports to: Premier League Primary Stars Coordinator

Responsible for: To provide sports coaching sessions and interventions to children, young people and adults. The post holder will predominantly work daytime school sessions but will be required to work evenings or weekends.

Main Purpose of Job

The Premier League Primary Stars Officer will support the delivery on all aspects of Premier League Primary Stars programme, covering several areas of the national curriculum including physical education, numeracy, literacy, health, and enterprise. The post holder will also have a responsibility to support teachers during their engagement with the Primary Stars programme, with a view of increasing their confidence, knowledge, and skills in delivering high quality PE lessons.

Responsibilities

· Deliver high quality lessons across the national curriculum using Premier League Primary Stars and Brentford content to engage learners.

· To deliver targeted interventions and workshops as part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme to support students across several areas such as English, Maths and PSHE.

· Support and skill swap with teachers throughout the 7-week duration of each PL Primary Stars project, to increase their confidence, knowledge, and skills in delivering high quality physical education lessons.

· Support the content design and delivery of enrichment days at schools and education activation events across our four main boroughs; Hounslow, Ealing, Richmond and Hillingdon.

· Collaborate with schools to monitor and measure the impact of PL Primary Stars activities on pupils and teachers.

· Always lead by example by creating exceptional session delivery plans and delivering to the highest standards

· Support the PL Primary Stars Coordinator in liaising with schools to set session delivery plans and ensure that individual school requirements are met in terms of planning and assessment

· Support the PL Primary Stars Coordinator with the completion of monitoring, evaluation and impact report requirements.

· Any other reasonable duties.

The Selection Criteria Essential

· Minimum Level 2 or above sports coaching qualification

· Safeguarding certificate

· Emergency Aid certificate

· Current DBS

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in delivering PE Curriculum Coaching

· Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to establish and maintain good working relationships

· Experience in planning and delivering sports activities, in curriculum-based PE and after school club environments

· Experience in understanding and commitment to physical education, sport and long-term athlete development

· Ability to travel to variety of workplaces within West London utilising own transport

Desirable:

· FA Youth Modules

· FA Mentoring Adults

· Multi Skills Qualification

· AfPE Level 3 PESS qualification

· Computer Literate (Microsoft Office) / IT skills

The job holder will commit and conform to Brentford FC Community Sports Trust’s procedures & codes of conduct, including our Child Protection Policy, Equal Opportunities Policy and Health and Safety at work – reflecting the Trust’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The job holder will have responsibility for promoting ethics, safeguarding and the welfare of children – the Trust expects all staff to share this commitment. The job holder will be provided with a Contract of Employment (detailing all terms and conditions) and a Brentford FC Community Sports Trust staff handbook.

This is a position of trust and involves regular and direct contact with children (under 18s), and is subject to DBS Disclosure at Enhanced Level, satisfactory references and a three-month probationary period. There could potentially be a delay in the start of the programme pending the completion of the DBS process.
