Introduction to the Front Office Porter Role.

Our Front Office team play a vital role in delivering a great guest experience to all our guests. They have a keen eye for detail, an organised approach and a willingness to exceed our guest expectation. As the Front Office team operates on the front line, they are the real ambassadors of our company, and are committed to consistently delivering high standards

Our Front Office Porters are hardworking individuals who can work on their own initiative and are key players in our Guest Service teams.They will work closely with the Front Office team to welcome guests and work in a considerate manner to ensure a safe working environemtn for themselves, the team and forguests, moving and storing equipment and guests luggage saftely.

Our team welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.


Please see a summary of the responsibilities below. This list is not exhaustive:

  • To ensure that all interactions with guests are positive and memorable.
  • To undertake all duties within the department including the car park, porter tasks and luggage porters, to make sure the department runs smoothly.
  • To keep all work areas, tidy at all times.
  • To be aware of daily events taking place in the hotel at all times to ensure you can answer any guest queries.
  • To take responsibility for guest luggage, making sure it is stored correctly, and it is correctly labelled.
  • To have excellent knowledge of the local area, including attractions, transportation systems, theatre, tourist sights, sporting activities, shops and restaurants.
  • To log parcels in the hotel, maintain correct record of parcels and packages and deliver messages and packages to all guests within the hotel within the correct time scale and procedure.
  • To carry out a clear and precise handover on every shift.

This position will include shifts working Saturday and/ or Sunday. Additional hours may be required to support the hotel during our busier periods including bank holidays.
