Job Title Front of House Usher

Role Summary
You will be required to provide Front of House ushering services for the Conservatoire ensuring an effective, efficient and customer-focussed image is presented at all times to both internal and external customers. The role requires responsibility for welcoming visitors to our buildings, checking tickets, showing customers to seats, customer care and venue safety duties.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome all visitors to the Conservatoire with courtesy and in accordance with
Conservatoire procedures
- Check tickets and show customers to seats as required
- Follow prescribed training and procedures at all times
- Check the venue and fire exits pre performance, as directed by the Duty Supervisor/Manager
- Staff venue doors, ensuring entrance procedures are followed (late comers etc)
- Be conversant with emergency and evacuation procedures, and evacuate audiences in the event of an emergency.
- Attend the FOH briefing, and follow duties as directed by the Duty Supervisor/Audience
Operations Manager
- Monitor audience while entering venue, during performance, and as leaving venue
- Assist with stage door, and stage reset duties as required
- Issue/sell programmes and merchandise as required
- Issue entrance/exits leaflets as required
- Provide information to public, staff and students on performances and venues
- Prepare bulk mailings and distribute promotional material to selected venues
- Tidy FOH area/venue as required
- Report any venue faults or problems to the Duty Supervisor/Manager.
- Provide general venue/building information, deal with relevant enquiries from public, students and staff
- Be up-to-date with events and maintain a thorough knowledge of Conservatoire activities
- Undertake any other duties as required within the scope of the FOH work and as directed by the Duty Supervisor/Manager
- Provide FOH duties at external venues when required

- At least 1 year experience in a Front of House Experience and understanding of working position within a busy theatre venue. with people at all levels e.g. students, senior
- Must present a professional and friendly public staff, public, and external organisations image. Knowledge of various music and art forms * Proven awareness of customer care with a strong customer focus
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and show initiative
- Practical experience of Emergency Evacuation requirements
- Strong availability across daytime, evenings and weekends
Job Type: Zero hours contract
Salary: From £10.90 per hour
