FOH Café Assistant
Contract: Permanent
27.5 hour contract (4 days from 7 on a rota basis) rolling rota to cover the opening hours of the business
Salary: £10.90 per hour
Based at: Porter’s Llandudno Junction Station

Job Purpose:
To perform a variety of duties associated with a busy coffee shop/café located on a train platform, servicing a large number of commuters between the hours of 6am – 6pm. The team here are multi-skilled and, due to the nature and this business, the role will include both front of house and back of house duties. You will be using a barista coffee machine, heating up light snacks and providing efficient till service taking orders and payments. You will clear tables in the café area as well as operating the dishwasher. You will have great customer service standards and a knowledge of basic food hygiene for this role.
- To provide a welcoming front of house experience and high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment
- To use barista coffee machine (training provided) to prepare a range of quality coffee
- Communicate effectively with other team members, ensuring all orders are completed correctly
- To prepare light meals and sandwiches as required
- To clear and clean as you go, including café and platform tables
- To use dishwasher on site to stock and replenish crockery when required
- To work with supervisors to ensure café is clean and hygienic at all times, adhering to Safer Food Better Business guidelines (including platform seating area)
- To work effectively within the team, support and train any volunteers/trainees, when required
- Operate EPOS till system and card machine payment machine to take payments and handle cash transactions
- Follow and Transport for Wales legislation or policy if or when required
- To ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to in line with company legislation

Person Specification:
- Level 2 Food Hygiene or equivalent
- Previous experience of working in a similar environment
- Food and drink preparation
- Good organisational skills, ability to manage, organise and deal with multiple tasks
- Customer Service
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a small team
- Full car driver/owner is desirable
- Flexible working to fit around a rolling rota to cover the opening hours of the business
