Front End Web Developer / Front End Developer

Fully remote working or hybrid working options

We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented front end web developer to join a leading scale up disruptor & fintech. The role will centre initially on the expansion and redesign of our marketing site. Built following the Jamstack architecture, the site uses 11ty (Eleventy) as its static site generator, Netlify for hosting, and deploys through GitHub.?
Following an initial relaunch phase, you’ll then help us to maintain, improve and expand the site on an ongoing basis –?as well as get your hands dirty on other front-end projects supporting the marketing growth function.

What will you be doing?
Your work will initially centre on our marketing site, iIn particular, you’ll be tasked with…

• Implementing a site-wide redesign based on approved designs
• Optimising site for mobile usage, including ongoing bug fixing?
• Creating additional site pages and templates (Nunjucks)?
• Integrating a CMS, so members of the marketing team can more easily change and upload new content across the site?
• Measuring and maximising the quality, performance and speed of the site, ensuring adequate test coverage and adherence to technical/SEO best practices?
• Ensuring templates are fully accessible according to WCAG AA standard?
• Maintaining dependencies, resolving bugs and introducing improvements on an ongoing basis?

In the future there will likely be scope for other development projects, for example a sign-up, authentication and onboarding journey through the website.

About You:

? We are looking for a front-end web developer who…?

• Is very experienced in creating fast and highly-performant marketing sites (and so is highly proficient in HTML, CSS and Javascript)?
• Has prior experience of working with Jamstack sites, preferably 11ty (or any similar SSGs such as Jekyll or Hugo)?
• Prior experience with Nunjucks templates is a plus?
• Can recommend a CMS that would work well with our site and lead its’ integration?
