What is the opportunity?

This Frontend UI Developer role within RBS Capital Markets, consists of developing, improving, and supporting strategies. The individual will work across teams in CM with best-in-class technologies to deliver solutions to build and maintain core libraries, components, applications for front-end.

In addition, they will:

  • Tackle complex problems, providing robust, efficient, and strategic solutions that have a lasting impact on Capital Markets businesses alike.
  • Deliver new design and development specifications based on customer requirements, while adhering to standard procedures and techniques.
  • Participate in post-implementation reviews of application development content and processes; continually working to create a learning environment by sharing about the participation process with others.
  • Support the implementation of application programs; fix any existing or new bugs.

This individual will work closely with various Capital Markets development teams to define projects requirements and provide support on implementations where needed. This candidate possesses excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Must have:

  • Extensive experience in Frontend UI design and development
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience building JavaScript applications using React and Material UI.
  • Experience in Typescript, React, RxJS, and Redux is highly desirable
  • Experience in writing unit test cases using React Testing library.
  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience working in the financial industry
  • Aptitude for user interface design and building good user experiences; experience in various design tools is a bonus
  • Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies
  • Familiarity with DevOps tooling such as JIRA, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Knowledge of and experience with OpenFin
  • Familiarity with different FE frameworks, tools, and paradigms such as Lodash/FP, D3, Node.js, GraphQL, React-query, Redux-toolkit, AG-Grid etc
