We are looking for an experienced UX Developer for our Online Activation team.
As UX Developer, you will be responsible for developing and modifying existing web properties, participating in the design and development process on new websites, and work with business users and other departments providing user support. We are looking for someone who enjoys bringing abstract concepts to life and working with a team on creative initiatives.
The ideal candidate will play an integral role in shaping, developing, and integrating a successful UX strategy and vision for all consumer-facing web properties. They will also work as an advocate for UX by sharing experiences, knowledge, and benefits of a user-centered design process with a variety of internal business units. This position will work closely with front-end developers in the IT department, as well as the marketing and content teams, and will be responsible for implementing features that help enhance the overall customer experience. With a strong understanding of best practices and knowledge of cutting-edge trends in digital interfaces, the UX Developer produces online and mobile assets that seamlessly engage every user.
This is a remote position with travel to Tampa or Dallas metro offices required as business needs dictate for in person meetings.
What You’ll Do:
- Create and maintain web properties using HTML/CSS/JavaScript best practices
- Maintain code and accessibility standards
- Collaborate with product managers, other developers, content strategists, and designers to execute UI/UX design concepts that are technically feasible to implement while also delivering on brand and business goals
- Work alongside our sales and marketing teams to test different A/B scenarios for overall consumer experiences
- Create wireframes for redesigns and future websites and applications
- Use recent studies and findings to establish the best overall design elements to include in UX design experiences across websites/ads/internal web applications
- Build new content websites, particularly using WordPress, with both pre-built themes and site builders
- Analyze customer responses and site data from high traffic web pages to determine why certain pages perform better
- Leverage new opportunities and ways to present the brand and extend the reach of our clients
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience, Associate degree with 5+ years of experience, or 8+ years of experience required for applicants without a college degree.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in UX/UI design and implementation for consumers and consumer brands – experience with landing page design and execution especially preferred
- 3+ years of WordPress developer experience (WordPress theme development skills highly preferred)
- 3+ years of demonstrated proficiency in Semantic CSS and CSS pre-processors/SASS
- 3+ years of Semantic HTML coding and troubleshooting experience
- 3+ years jQuery experience
- 3+ years of JavaScript experience (strong vanilla JS and ES6 skills preferred)
- Experience with web accessibility a plus
- Experience with Node/NPM a plus
- Experience with setting up events in Google Analytics (GA4 preferred) and Google Tag Manager
- Experience working in Angular, React or other JS frameworks a plus, but not required
- Experience with site and/or product discovery processes
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment to create top-performing interfaces for consumers
- Proficiency with visual design programs such as Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/XD preferred, but not required
- Professional written and interpersonal skills when communicating with cross functional teams
- Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
- Account for challenges using problem-solving skills and seek to optimize data for the best possible outcome
- Continued education and research into UX trends, current design strategy and new technologies
