Job description
Rightcharge is a well funded, early-stage startup with the mission of accelerating the adoption of clean technologies for a cleaner planet - starting with electric cars.
We are expanding our engineering team. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking for their next challenge to be one that makes a positive impact on the planet.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of front-end development using frameworks like Vue.js, React or Node.js and a familiarity with Django, (which we heavily use now but plan to deprecate in the future). The ideal candidate should also have a good understanding of how to design and build a product with conversion rate optimization in mind. We're looking for someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats (development, design, conversion optimization) and is continuously up to speed with emerging digital and SaaS marketing trends.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to collaborate closely with other teams across the company from marketing to operations and fully understand the problems that we are trying to solve using technology.
- Own the UX/UI design and prototyping of new features and products (preferably using figma or some other equivalent design software) with on-site conversion and user experience in mind
- Work closely with back-end developers to integrate front-end features with server-side functionality
- Develop and maintain functional and tested code using Vue.js and/or React with a keen eye for new tools that we could take advantage of
- Ensure that all code is thoroughly tested and maintainable
- Optimize front-end performance and ensure user experience
- Must be flexible in terms of your day-to-day. We often deal with short deadlines and have to juggle multiple deliverables at a time.
- Comfortable owning your own areas of expertise and contributing ideas in a one on one or a wider team setting.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in front-end development with a proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Strong proficiency with Vue.js. Experience with React, Django, and other popular front-end frameworks is ideal.
- Understanding of SEO principles and a keen eye for conversion optimization
- Familiarity with AWS namely front end related tools like AWS amplify as well as database technologies (Dynamo, Appsync, postgres, GraphQL, etc)
- Experience turning wireframes or early stage product ideas into functional Figma designs
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills and ability to write clean, maintainable code
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Experience with responsive and adaptive design
- Self-starter who is comfortable working with a high level of autonomy, being responsible for multiple areas of the product and achieving goals on their own
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Behavior driven development in an Agile development environment
- Experience with data visualization libraries (such as D3.js or Chart.js)
