Front End Developer / Designer
Position Grade: D1
Reporting to: Create Design Manager
Location: Birmingham and regional locations
Working hours: 35 hours per week following contractually agreed shifts (which may vary)

The role
Create is recognised as being the leader in terms of creative output and quality to the whole firm both in the UK and Globally.
Role requirements include using HTML, CSS, JS to build web applications with web development best practices to transform web/app designs into front-end code.
We can offer you a fantastic opportunity to expand your knowledge in a busy environment based at the heart of the internal creative team. You will be working on a wide range of email campaigns ranging from marketing through to pursuits.
You will be expected to perform as a mentor and knowledgeable resource for Create and clients. This position requires full knowledge and application of the firm's visual identity, and the team member will understand and anticipate clients' needs and expectations.
Working onsite with a client project team, or in the office, providing a valuable service to our KPMG clients. Output is frequently high profile; the quality, accuracy and timeliness of the product is therefore of critical importance.
Duties and responsibilities
You will be working as part of the Create digital team to produce high-quality deliverables to the whole firm. We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced frontend developer/designer with over 3 years of professional experience, ideally with experience in working for a corporate company like KPMG. You would have a history in digital and multimedia including HTMLS, CSS3, jQuery, Photoshop, GitHub and Agile. You are renowned for fast HTML and CSS coding, accuracy, and attention to detail as well a relaxed temperament and great interpersonal skills.
The Person
A passion for coding and design with strong front-end development and design skills on HTML, CSS, SCSS, jOuery, JavaScript. Considerable experience working with and developing front-end in collaboration with back-end developers. Excellent UI/UX skills to deliver intuitive and creative websites to meet client briefs.

Skills required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience developing modern, responsive, and cross-browser-compatible websites using HTML, CSS, Sass and JavaScript
- Knowledge of JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue would be hightly advantagous.
- Proficient with Bootstrap, VS Code, Github
- Proficiency with HTML5, including semantic markup, SEO practices and web accessibility
- Familiarity with CSS pre-processors such as Sass, Less
- Experience with build tools such as Node, Grunt, Gulp, or Webpack (We use Webpack primarily)
- Experience with cross-browser compatibility testing and page speed optimisation skills
- Good web design skills with an eye for detail, understanding of web trends
- Proficient with Photoshop and XD, we use XD for wireframing/User journey mapping
- Managing projects with clients and liasing with clients and explaining technical issues to non-technical people
Skills Desirable
- JS frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue
- Hosting enviroiments such as AWS/Azure or similar infastructure knowledge would be advantagous
- Comfortable explaining issues and challenges to technical and non-technical colleagues
- Experience in responsive HTML email coding
