About the Role
As a front-end developer, you’ll be working in one of our Scrum teams, and working side-by-side developers and the Scrum master in delivering requirements as specified by the Product Owner and UI/UX designers in development Sprints.
Promoting cross-team collaboration, knowledge sharing and personal growth, you will have the opportunity to work in different Scrum teams to support and deliver features in the other products developed by FOD. You’ll find that no requirement or development task is repetitive, and each product feature you work on is not only new and exciting to us but also to the markets and the customers which we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Being a key contributing member of a friendly and focussed front-end team of developers.
Supporting fellow developers in migrating legacy Vue.js and JQuery to React
Embracing our Agile methodology to deliver high-quality front-end features and to fix bugs.
Working with a positive, can-do attitude within your Scrum team
Keeping up with industry standards and best practices.
Skills, Experience & Expertise:
Strong experience building frontend web apps using React, TypeScript, CSS, node, webpack.
Good JavaScript, JS framework, HTML and CSS knowledge
Experience in supporting legacy code in Vue.js and JQuery and migration to React
Experience with testing (i.e React testing library / jest)
Good knowledge of state management
Passionate about good development and user experience
Being a good communicator with good written and spoken English skills
Willingness to learn (access provided to Frontend Masters and other training)
Desirable
Knowledge of CSS pre-processors (SASS and LESS) and /BEM /CSS modules
Know how to check and implement AA accessibility standards on an SPA frontend
Experience consuming and working with APIs – ideally REST
Internationalisation
Troubleshooting polyfills and build tools and related ES6 and CSS cross-browser issues
Node JS and build tools such as webpack, and Gulp to optimize tooling around builds
Some knowledge of PHP / MYSQL and or other OOP languages
Bonus points for experience with Redux Toolkit and RTKQuery and/or observables
