DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Manager of Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness, the Front Desk/ Authorization Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients. The Front Desk / Authorization Coordinator performs and coordinates front office patient centered duties. These duties include, but not limited to, greeting patients, co-pay collection, appointment scheduling, processing referrals, verifying insurance benefits and if applicable, obtaining initial authorizations. The Front Desk / Authorization Coordinator serves as a resource for patients, physicians, staff, and ambulatory care service managers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience obtaining authorizations in a large complex healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of third-party payors including: federal, state, and commercial health plans.
- Ability to work in an interactive, fast paced environment and possess excellent customer service skills both in person and over phone.
- Strong problem-solving ability using good judgment and applying these skills to assist customers and ensure their expectations are met.
- Detail oriented with proficient computer skills and the ability to work between multiple systems during calls.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Strong organizational skills with independent ability to set priorities, handle deadlines and manage conflicting demands with limited supervision.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with demonstrated experience applying good judgment and discretion.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- EPIC, Cadence, Right fax experience preferred.
- Cardiac Rehab Experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
May be required to float to other sites to provide coverage as needed.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $66,879 - $66,879 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $32.03 - $32.03
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).
If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
